About NVD
A family-owned business, established in 1980, NVD was set up to assist vehicle manufacturers in the timely and incident free distribution of their products from receipt at first point of rest, i.e., port or factory, to dealers and other end user destinations. Our service offering is the integrated provision of the three main pillars of outbound logistics, including transporting, storing and enhancing our customers’ vehicles, prior to delivery to their end location.

Andrew Boland is Chairman and CEO of National Vehicle Distribution.
John Boland
Managing Director
John Boland is Managing Director of NVD. John has worked for NVD over many years and has first hand experience across most areas of the business, including Business Development Manager and Operations Manager. John’s education includes a Bsc Business Studies (Finance Stream) 2000 -2004, CIMA Management Accountant, INSEAD Supply Chain Management and INSEAD Management Acceleration Program
Andrew Boland Jr.
Head of Finance
Andrew Boland has been NVD’s Head of Finance since January 2023. For the 3 years previous to this, Andrew was a financial consultant with KPMG. Prior to that, Andrew worked for UCB, a global biopharma company, in its digital transformation team. Andrew is an ACA having studied a BComm International (German), MSc in International Management (CEMS), and a QFA at UCD.
Susan Roche
Chief Operations Officer
Susan Roche started in NVD in 2016 as Head of Finance. Previous experience included various Finance roles in the Manufacturing, Warehousing, Logistics and Travel Industry. As part of her Finance role in NVD, Susan was heavily involved in the operations and in 2019 took on a role as the Head of Operations. Education BA and MA in Accounting.
Des Cunningham
Chief Business Development Officer
Des Cunningham is Head of Business Development. With over 26 years experience in the Finished Vehicle Logistics Industry, Des joined NVD in 1997 and has worked throughout the business, including fulfilling the role of Head of Operations until 2013, when he transferred to Head the Business Development Department. He holds an MBA in International Business Development.
Ann Hinds
Chief People Officer
Ann joined NVD as Group Chief People Director with a mission to support NVD’s strategic growth by leading the people agenda in both operational and strategic innovation. She is a driven and accomplished CPO and Main Board Director with extensive experience across a diverse range of sectors, ranging from internationally operating professional service firms, and PLC’s to start-ups.
Michael Howlin
Chief Technology Officer
Michael Howlin is NVD’s Head of IT and Chief Technology Officer. He holds a Master of Science in Computing (Enterprise Software Systems). Michael brings 10 years industry experience with a background in enterprise infrastructure.

Ann joined NVD as Group Chief People Director in 2023 with a mission to support NVD’s strategic growth by leading the people agenda in both operational and strategic innovation. She is a driven and accomplished CPO and Main Board Director with extensive experience across a diverse range of sectors, ranging from internationally operating professional service firms, Plc's to start-ups. Motivated by delivering people-centric and highly transformative initiatives in both employed and consultancy positions, effecting internationally reaching and significantly impactful change. A visionary but hands-on leader who thrives on building strong professional relationships, driving policy and structure, and championing people as the heart of an organisation’s success. Additionally, she has a deep connection with the voluntary sector and is currently the Chair of an International Baccalaureate Primary School (Charity) and a member of a number of bodies that focus on supporting people of all ages realise their full potential.
